Before ordering images, read the information about Using Timeframes images which explains how you are allowed to use the images, and what copyright and other clearances must be obtained for certain uses.

You can order prints or digital files of images from Timeframes by:

• Ordering images online from this website (instructions below)
• Downloading an order form to scan & email or post to us, or
• Contact us and ask for an order pack to be posted to you.

When you order images, you must give full details of how you are going to use the copies you are ordering, e.g. book illustration (give title, author and date of publication), calendar, commercial display, family history.

Our order process takes time. The usual turnaround time is 10 working days. Large orders and more complex orders may take longer.

If copyright or other clearances are required we do not start processing items until we have written confirmation from you that clearance has been obtained.

Images can be supplied in a range of formats - the choice depends on how you intend to use the images you order.

To order one image online

You can order a single image from the detail screen. To get to the detail screen from your search results, click on the result title or thumbnail:

Then on the detail screen, click on the link Purchase this single image to get the order form:

To order multiple images online

Add images to My favourites from the list of search results by checking the box next to Add to My Favourites:

Go to My favourites:

Select the images you would like to order:

Choose Push to purchase from the drop-down menu labelled Select how to save and then press Go:

The order form will appear in a pop up window.

Complete the form by indicating the number & type of images you require.

You will also be asked for your name and address details, and for details of how you will use the images you order.

You will be able to choose to pay for your order online by credit card, by invoice (requires a requisition number) or by printing out your completed order form and mailing it to us with a cheque.

Payment and delivery

All orders must be prepaid and payment by credit card is welcomed. Alternatively make cheques payable, in New Zealand dollars, to the National Library of New Zealand or supply an authorised requisition form.

The National Library undertakes to keep the details you supply to us secure. Information about how the National Library collects and stores details supplied to the Library by users of its websites is available on the National Library of New Zealand website Privacy, Copyright, and Terms of Use page.

There are two delivery options:

• Post
• Courier - sent overnight by standard courier within New Zealand. You will need to make your own arrangements for overseas courier delivery or supply the Library with your FedEx number.

We do not supply copies via email.

Download your order online by FTP

If you have ordered digital copies of images, you can choose to download your order by FTP. To use this method:

• choose the CD-Rom option on the order form, then
• in the 'Comments/Additional instructions' field, please type in that you wish to use our FTP service.

Once your order has been processed, a username and password will be emailed to you, enabling you to download your order. The images will remain available on the FTP site for two weeks.

Downloading image files is not recommended for dial up modem users (1 image may take up to 1 hour to download).

You are able to download the images in two ways:

• For frequent users and larger numbers of images. Through your own FTP application (There are a number of free applications such as: http://filezilla-project.org)
• For one-off and less frequent users, you can download through most web browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc).
